A real waterproof cover for Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hmmm! looking for really an effective waterproof cover for your Samsung Galaxy SIII. Your wait got ended here! Now your Samsung Galaxy S III can go under the water with your iPhone 5.The LifeProof Nuud cases, previously available for Apple products only, are now available for the S III and the iPhone 5. (Note: You can get these cases from below links directly from amazon as a good deal)

The main important thing about these waterproof covers are that they do not membrane covering the phone’s glass but have a gasket that forms a seal against the phone’s glass to keep water from seeping past the screen, which is itself waterproof. This design makes the Nuud line among the thinnest, most rugged cases available for these phones and for the iPad as well. This company promises to make waterproof, snowproof, dirtproof and shockproof covers, the phones cannot be used underwater. (There are cases, like the one from DriSuit Technologies, that allow the phone to be used while submerged).

While with LifeProof Nuud Cases, water on the screen can make it almost impossible for the phone to detect your touch. The case needs careful assembly to seal the bead around the screen. I found it best to assemble it on a hard surface and work my way around the phone, pressing down along the edges from the top to the bottom. At the base of the case is a hatch that opens to the charger, so you don’t have to remove the case to update the phone or top off the battery. Microphone and speaker ports are covered with a membrane that keeps water out (up to six feet down) but
lets sound pass. The Nuud is $90 for the S III and the iPhone 5 (but you can get little discount if you by from the above amazon links)

Woman’s death and Apple’s USB charger trade-in program

After reports that a woman in China died after using her iPhone while it was being charged through a third-party USB adapter, Apple has announced a USB adapter trade-in program to ensure it’s customer safety.
Apple, a tech giant will accept third-party USB adapters and in return sell customers official Apple USB adapters for only $10, almost half price then tagged in Apple store. USB adapters are used to connect iPhone, iPad and iPod USB cables into wall outlets.
Apple said that they are starting “USB Power Adapter Takeback Program” due to reports that suggest that some third-party adapters could be unsafe.

“While not all third party adapters have an issue, we are announcing a USB Power Adapter Takeback Program to enable customers to acquire properly designed adapters,” Apple said. “Customer safety is a top priority at Apple.”
  • Program start date in USA: August 16, 2013
  • Program End date in USA: October 18, 2013
Users can go to any Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to drop off their third-party USB adapter, which will be “disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.”
Users also need to bring their iPhone, iPad or iPod device for serial number validation. Customers are limited to one $10 USB adapter for each iPhone, iPad and iPod they have.

Educational Tablets from Intel

Intel’s Student Tablet

Just yesterday we posted about the special student discount on Tablets by Microsoft on its product known as Surface Pro. Here is great news that other companies are also doing very good things for students. Intel is hoping to help schools make the transition to electronic learning with the announcement of two low-spec Android tablets intended to be cheap enough for bulk purchase, see the repots by PhoneArena.
The smaller and we think cheaper also! With an Atom Z2420 chip running at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, and a 7-inch display with the resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels. There are also 8GB of storage, a built-in speaker and mike, basic front and rear cameras, and a sealed battery that will give you power back up of 8 hours (not bad!). It is claimed that this tablet is resistant to some water and shock damage too, bearing IP41 certification, is worth noting.

Another larger model will have this specification: Intel Education Tablets is powered by a 1.6GHz Atom Z2460 processor backed by 1GB of RAM and its 10.1-inch display has a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. It offers twice the built-in storage, 16 GB

Educational Accessories (Magnifying glass on camera)

Although the tablets are made for educational purpose and for students, they will come with bundled education software and learning-focused accessories like a magnification lens for the camera and a temperature probe.
Unfortunately we do not have any details about Pricing and availability as of now, but with those specs we’d expect them to be significantly more affordable than the iPads being baught by LA unified school district.

Special Student discount for Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet

Going school and willing to buy a tablet for the study. I think Microsoft Surface Pro tablet is not a bad choice while Microsoft is cutting its price by $100 for students.

Microsoft is selling the Surface Pro; this tablet is capable of running a full version of Windows 8 operating system and starting at $799 for a 64GB model and 128 GB model is down to $899. Students with a valid edu email address can get an additional discount of 10%. Click on above Amazon’s link which will take you to directly on the discount page of Amazon, where you can get student discount.

Microsoft Surface ProThis offer known as “back-to-school price” is valid only for limited time as Microsoft stated that Surface Pro will be discounted through August 30 only. At the same time Microsoft stated that they are happy with the success with Surface RT because of the pricing and keyboard-cover promotion over the past several months and proud to offer Surface Pro at more affordable prices starting today. Microsoft made these announcements to The Verge website.
It is true that Surface Pro is expensive than other tables out there. It is because only one valid reason that it can run a complete Windows OS same as a laptop or a desktop, which means you can install program like iTunes or other computer games on your Surface Pro outside the Microsoft’s App store.
Despite of all these kind of ear ringing things, it and Surface RT could not capture market of tablet as per the expectation so now Microsoft is trying to impress the student body by offering handsome discount and want to capture that market.
Well, let’s wish a good luck to Microsoft for that!
